Due to an incredible amount of interest in volunteering at the Backyard this year, our volunteer application list is full and we are now taking applications for a waitlist only at this time. If room opens up in July or August, we will reach out in order of applications.

Volunteers are essential to make any festival run and a great way to be a part of the Phillips Backyard Community! Volunteers who complete a four-hour shift will gain entry to one evening at Phillips Backyard. you can apply to work multiple shifts to attend multiple days!

Volunteer FAQs

Unfortunately no. We have a limited number of volunteer shifts that need filling, and in 2023 we received nearly double the applications than we needed.

Confirmations should go out approximately one month before each event.

No, refunds cannot be given but you can use your “free” ticket for another concert evening.

Entry to the festival, a volunteer t-shirt, and lots of new friends are guaranteed!

If you’re scheduled for an earlier shift and want to stay for the rest of the day, you can use that as your festival entry and enjoy the show!

We have shifts in the following areas.
a. Hospitality - assist backstage with artist hospitality (requires a little bit of lifting)
b. Operations - assist our Operations team. You’ll help direct traffic, show guests where to find things, or help out with the site team (requires lifting)
c. Box Office - assist with wristbands and ticket collection
d. Merchandise - help our merch staff sell band merch!
